Description: In an unprecedented move, I was hired as a teacher’s assistant while still in my undergraduate studies. Under the supervision of the department head, I designed a course package on scientific research of ancient texts. I also lectured on modern translations of manuscripts and helped set the department’s standards for official material used in pedagogical activities.

Description: I started off as a host and was promoted to General Manager within 8 months. I managed two restaurants with a liquor license (full bar) successively. Besides ensuring the profitability of the restaurant, hiring / dismissing employees, and securing sufficient inventory (beverages / alcohol), I also redesigned the floor plan of both locations and had the ALOHA server system installed in all Sweet Heat restaurants.

Interests:

Acting: I’ve always liked performing but never thought about making it a career. I was in a few short films and plays when I was younger, but it wasn’t until I moved to Taiwan that I started doing TV commercials (Morgan Stanley, SK II, China Airlines). I was lucky enough to meet Chinese stars Lin Zhi Ling (林志玲), Xiao Qiang (萧蔷), and Karen Mok during filming.

 

Languages: I have spent the last 3 years studying Chinese (traditional and simplified). I’ve studied at Taiwan National University, Taiwan Normal University, and a private school in Beijing. I am presently a student at Jiaotong University, where I study Mandarin 3 hours a day.
